Poem: Near and Far

34.JPG

Near and Far

The windows are dark from a distance.
Holes in the light against ancient clapboard.
It is easy to believe nothing is there.

It is a lie of course. There is no silence,
no darkness, only life unseen
until you venture close.

About this poem

Everyone has a story, and it’s rarely the story they tell.
