Poem: The Scenery You Missed

The Scenery You Missed

There is no destination.
You have let that go.
Not once have you ended up
where you thought you were traveling.

And so you trust the wind,
flying more,
fighting less, constantly amazed
at the scenery you missed.

About this poem.

Ten years in Vermont. My beloved has a birthday. And she and I have an anniversary. It’s a month of rejoicing in a life I never expected.

The picture was taken on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
