Poem: A Hole in the Wall

41_resize.JPG

A Hole in the Wall

A hole in the wall where a switch once lived.
Stain on the walls faded.
This is the room company never sees,

the always under construction part,
not ready for showtime, never
a thing to be ashamed of,

simply
incomplete.

About this poem

About houses. About lives. Nothing is finished.

The picture was taken at The Mount, Edith Wharton’s home. Most of it stunningly beautiful, Strikingly elegant, but still there is this one room….
