Guarding a Corpse
You come on them in the woods,
concrete pylons, stacked like sentries,
once the strength of great walls,
now a sieve for wanderers like me.
Roofs collapsed. Walls fallen aside,
they are merely soldiers
guarding a corpse.
About this poem
Yesterday I went wandering around the countryside and found a covered bridge near Shusan. NY. And just beyond it, an old abandoned factory.
I am a sucker for abandoned buildings, so off I went with my camera. I posted a bunch of the images on Facebook, but this one I saved because I knew it had a poem in it.

Your poems especially during this difficult time are wonderful. Blessings, Dr. Jim Brown
If they touch or help people, even a little, in this time, then I am grateful. Thank you.
