Layers
In the end it is not the paint,
the colors.
the lines,
or carefully crafted brush strokes.
It is the layers,
one on the other
as they complement or clash
making a masterpiece
or madness.
Sometimes, if you are lucky,
you capture both.
About this poem
About art. About poetry. About life.
As much as we would like it to be, nothing is as simple as it seems.
The photograph is a detail from one of my paintings. Sometimes I like the details as much as the whole painting.

Thanks for these examples of you work. I especially enjoy the cropping. .Long ago my photographer -wife introduced me to cropping as a way to save a failed photo; but in your case you simply manage to get two paintings from one effort. (I’m guessing you don’t spend time moping over what detail you’re going to share with us. Poems with paintings is another touch that seems to be your style, but remember, when it comes to art I live in a cave
LOL! A cave huh? I suspect you are harsh on yourself. No, I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about the details. I just snap what jumps out at me when I finish the painting and move on. Kinda how I live my whole life. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it gets me in trouble.
