Proverbs 2
Nothing every lasts as long as you think it will.
Not the good. Not the bad.
It’s more valuable to know the bad won’t last.
Most of us survive.
But don’t kid yourself, some don’t.
Good to remember when dealing with people.
I don’t want to be the one who makes the wrong difference.
People with scars are more interesting.
What a shame most of us hide ours.
Doing small things in life is more important than we think.
It helps us feel in control.
Those small things are more important
the more out of control things are.
Love makes everything it touches better.
If it doesn’t, it’s not love.
Hold it in long enough,
And everything explodes. Or collapses.
I don’t care what you are made of.
Taste everything.
Some of it you will hate,
but oh the other things!
About this poem
Not about the book of Proverbs in the bible, but certainly the title is inspired by it.
Inspired by conversations at my diners the last day or two.
Called Poverbs 2 because it’s the second poem like this I’ve written recently. The other one is here.
