Poem: An Introvert’s prayer

An Introvert’s Prayer

A lamp on the table.
Books on the shelves.
A place you live, happily,
but at times, too long
in this little puddle of light
when there is so much darkness
outside.

About this poem

One of those “once was long now is short” prayers. Right or wrong I was trained to cut out everything not needed.

The picture was taken at the Shelburne Museum.
