Poem: No Need for Gravy

No Need for Gravy

This is what you want. A quiet spot
to sit and think and perhaps hold the hand
of the woman you love.
No words needed.

A place to let the feelings soak in
at their own speed. Soak in completely
instead of brushing by and being put away
in a cabinet somewhere

because the next ones have already arrived.
This perhaps is why you love love,
an emotion so strong even your trauma-built walls
cannot resist,

A quiet place. A little sunlight.
Time.
Pretty much everything else
is gravy.
