Poem: In Need of Grace

In Need of Grace

This morning, you are in need of grace.
Of dawn rather than the dusk you feel,
a waxing light in a dimming day.

This morning, you are in need of grace,
your past darknesses hold you in their grip
and your skill has not yet set you free.

This morning, you are in need of grace,
something beyond yourself. It has saved you before,
and so you call for it again in prayer.

This morning, you are in need of grace.

About this poem.

Some mornings are harder than others. (I am fine, though).

The word grace, in Methodist-speak, means “God’s undeserved favor.”

The photograph was take in Hartford, NY.
