Poem: Never As Simple

Never As Simple

The problem has always been
that the light from outside
only went so far,
leaving you with choices.
Go Outside.
Create your own light.
Or live in the darkness.
None of them as simple as they seem.

About this poem

A poem about mental illness, and how often we say “You just need to….” As someone who has worked with, and lived with his own struggles, I know – it is never that simple.

A little love and acceptance goes a long way.

PS: The Picture was taken in an abandoned factory in NH.
