Poem: Geographically Challenged

Geographically Challenged

Another diner. In another city.
Same noise. Same stories.
Different faces. You could be
home, but you are not.
You are in the unfamiliar geography
with the same wind,
and a room full of strangers,
a little lost, you and them,
but oddly comfortable
in the stories that fly around
like yesterday’s newspapers.
