Poem: Stronger Than We Know.

Stronger Than We Know

Trees cling to the bluff.
A storm is coming
There are no leaves left.
Stripped by past storms and seasons,
the limbs appear fragile, ready to snap.

But you have walked this path for years,
and every tree still stands. None lost
to wind and rain and exposure.
It appears roots not only run deep,
but are stronger than we know.

About this poem.

About trees on a beach bluff (the photograph was taken on Cape Cod.). About the strength of our own roots (which can be good or bad.) About faith. About love that has had time to grow roots.

Poetry is never about one thing.
