The Winter Within
Minus eight and the air takes your breath away.
The sky slowly greys. Snow, more of it, is coming.
Twelve years here and it is home, this cold,
raw, beautiful and dangerous.
It is best seen from windows, from a place of warmth,
blankets and the flames of heat surrounding you,
her arms around you, protection
from the winter within.
I love it too. I have a very similar photograph I took just the other day.
This warms my heart. God bless you and the woman you love. – Ellyn Couvillion, Baton Rouge
I am still in wonder, that at this stage of my life, we found each other.
