The Gravity of Love
Early in the morning, you leave for work.
She sleeps after a restless night.
A gentle kiss and then down the stairs.
There are things to do.
It is a busy day. A normal day.
Full of conversations and problems to solve.
It’s what you do in the background of your life.
You are grateful for it. It adds purpose
to a life already full of purpose.
But now and then you stop,
and think of her, And the gravity of love
pull you close to her, even when she it not there,
and yet somehow,
she is.
