Poem: Unadulterated

Undulterated

The wedding flowers are starting to fade,
and with it the purity of the moment,
the unadulterated joy that comes
only with love.

The past creeps in, your age, the loss,
a history of mixed emotions, your plague
some days, making you that much more grateful
for the few moments of perfect

that infect your life
and have made it worth living.

About this poem

My daughter got married this weekend. It was was a day of pure joy. There’s not many of those in life, but oh, how wonderful they are!
