Poem: Words Overheard at the Market

Words Overheard at the Market

Yes, she said,
everything here
was thrown away.
I just believed
in their beauty.

About this poem

Hard to call it a poem really, since I stole all but two words from a young woman in the Roanoke City Market. But it’s worth setting down anyway.

  1. Reminds me of my marriage which ended in 1996….and what others said about the end of it.
