Poem: In the Distance, Rain Falls

In the Distance, Rain Falls

In the distance, rain falls.
You see the shadows of falling water against the sun.
You smell the damp air,
hear the warning thunder.

In the distance, rain falls.
Violent. Powerful enough the mountains quake.
There is electricity in the air.
You breathe it in.

In the distance, rain falls,
and you have just wakened to its transformation
of the air around you,
unsure whether it comes, or goes.

In the distance, rain falls.

About this poem.

At times the past colors the present. At times, we are left behind the storms. We wait to understand which way the wind blows.

True in weather. True in life.
